ABOUT SPACE CREW MODULE

This workshop theme focuses on introducing members to the fascinating world of human space exploration, spacecraft systems, astronaut safety, and rocket science through interactive STEM learning. The program highlights how modern crew modules are designed to safely transport astronauts during launch, orbit, and re-entry missions while also exploring the scientific principles behind rockets and space travel. Inspired by modern missions such as Gaganyaan, the workshop aims to connect classroom science with real-world aerospace technology and future innovations in space exploration.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

  • This workshop introduces members to the exciting world of Human Spaceflight, Spacecraft Systems, Rocket Science, and Astronaut Training through interactive STEM-based learning. Participants will explore how astronauts travel to space using modern crew capsules like Orion and Gaganyaan, while understanding spacecraft systems such as heat shields, life support, docking systems, parachute recovery, and astronaut safety features.
  • Members will learn the science behind rockets, including Newton’s Laws of Motion, thrust, momentum, escape velocity, orbital motion, re-entry aerodynamics, and G-forces experienced during launch and landing. The workshop also covers astronaut training methods, launch procedures, orbit operations, emergency simulations, and mission communication systems used by leading space agencies.
  • Interactive activities like spacecraft design challenges, mini rocket demonstrations, mission simulations, and group discussions will encourage creativity, teamwork, innovation, and scientific thinking while inspiring future careers in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Space Science, and advanced technology fields.
